The Anthracite Place project is a 30 unit affordable housing building with additional storage on the ground level. There are (6) 2 bedroom units and (24) 1 bedroom units. The project is one of the first buildings you see as you enter the historic town of Crested Butte. Being a high profile site, the town was very involved with the design and it was important that it feel like the scale of the project fits into the quaint mountain town. The affordable project owned by Gunnison Valley Housing Authority was quickly filled and provided tenants amenities such as a bus stop across the street, groceries, hardware and restaurants all within walking distance. The project was certified under the Enterprise Green program which is a green building program specifically for affordable housing.
